Help without the runaround

HabitCheer Support

Start with the steps below. If the app still is not behaving, email us with a short description and the screen where it happened.

What do you need?

1. Sign in and device sessions

Adult sign-in

  1. Open HabitCheer and choose Continue with Apple.
  2. Use the same Apple account that originally joined the household.
  3. If you previously completed account deletion, signing in creates a fresh account and household rather than restoring deleted family content.

Teen session expired or the app was reinstalled

A teen should not need a new profile merely because an access token refreshed. If the device session was revoked, deleted, or lost during reinstall, a parent can open the teen’s menu in Family and create a one-time Reconnect device code. That code reconnects the existing teen profile and history.

Lost device

A parent can open Settings and revoke the missing device session. Revocation signs out that device without deleting household history.

2. Family invitations

Teen and adult invitations are short-lived, single-use codes. If a code says it is invalid, expired, or already used, ask the household organizer to revoke it and create a new one.

  • A teen invitation creates a new age-13+ profile.
  • A teen recovery invitation reconnects an existing profile.
  • An adult invitation requires Sign in with Apple and acceptance of the Terms and Privacy Notice.

Do not post invitation codes or send them to support. They are temporary household access credentials.

3. Subscriptions and plan status

Restore a purchase

  1. Open HabitCheer Settings.
  2. Choose Manage family plan.
  3. Choose Restore purchases.

Use the Apple account that made the purchase. Apple, not HabitCheer, processes billing and refund requests.

Cancel or change a subscription

On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, select your Apple Account, choose Subscriptions, then select HabitCheer. Deleting HabitCheer does not cancel a subscription.

“Plan inactive” banner

Your household history remains available when a plan is inactive, but new product activity may be limited. Restore purchases first. If Apple shows an active HabitCheer subscription and the banner remains after refresh, contact us.

4. Photo proof

HabitCheer supports JPEG, HEIC, and PNG images under 10 MB. The service checks the actual image, removes embedded metadata, creates a private copy, and scans it before making it available for review.

If an upload fails:

  1. Confirm HabitCheer has Photos or Camera permission in iOS Settings.
  2. Try a smaller supported image.
  3. Keep the app open until the attachment says it is ready.
  4. If you are offline, reconnect and use Retry rather than submitting a second copy.

For a removal request, use the privacy controls in the app or email support. Do not attach the photo to an email.

5. Notifications

HabitCheer can notify household members about relevant work, reviews, proposals, Pact updates, and rewards. Delivery depends on the notification preferences in HabitCheer and permission in iOS Settings.

  1. Open HabitCheer Settings and enable the categories you want.
  2. Open iOS Settings → Notifications → HabitCheer.
  3. Confirm Allow Notifications is on.

HabitCheer does not use notifications for advertising.

6. Export, leave, and deletion

Parents and adults

Open Settings → Privacy & support to prepare an export or request account deletion. If the household organizer requests deletion, HabitCheer may ask how to close or transfer the household before processing.

Teens

Open the teen Settings/Me screen to prepare an export or ask to delete the profile. A teen can also ask a parent or contact us directly.

Deletion removes personal content through the backend deletion process and revokes active sessions. Limited audit, billing, security, or legal records may be retained as explained in the Privacy Notice. Deleting the app alone does not delete the account.

7. Under-13 use, safety, or security concerns

HabitCheer is only for people age 13 and older. If you believe a child under 13 has a profile, email us with the subject Under-age report. Do not send the child’s invitation code or photo.

For suspected unauthorized access, use the subject Security concern, revoke the affected device session if possible, and tell us the approximate time and screen involved. HabitCheer is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services if someone is in immediate danger.
